Lord, # z4 `6 n' A9 t1 J9 a( q
having transformed+ Y6 r, M0 w3 J/ q0 f) U3 U3 `
sunshine and soil and water and seed,
( w! Y1 l4 R K8 t- [/ [$ {2 u: cinto food upon which we are soon to feed, 3 e5 W4 {& Q/ @) ~% J9 A
we thank you for life and we want to stay well,
( i8 j' r, y" c8 j% O1 p" T2 C! U; ~so we promise to rub our hands with Purell.8 f Q& N' S# N0 o. J
We who came first and are ready to dine
" O0 J) _% q( ]thank you that we’re not still waiting in line,
3 ^# p9 ?4 N# u# {. Q0 ]) kbut for those who are hungry and eagerly wait,
* k( o4 a5 ?* y! F: p2 \* {8 R" Swe shall not be greedy and heap up our plate.
4 z: N* A. g0 Q% qInstead we’ll be thoughtful of all the others
: l6 _* Q! b% a% e: y8 v3 q+ D$ Gthe way we were taught by our own loving mothers.6 V7 ]& A5 a4 U7 B3 s" ]

: Z! l# U3 c! Y+ G; j: MWe smell the potatoes all spicy and roasted
1 ~ E- B" Y6 K# ~# ^! x; n! J0 kthe aroma of casseroles perfectly toasted 5 S# _! z# Z+ ^" Q5 B
