Lord, ) w2 x9 g$ s3 q
having transformed+ N g' K; S* L0 [! y* x K
sunshine and soil and water and seed,( {6 w/ N2 u3 ~
into food upon which we are soon to feed,
: S$ _% b6 \5 O- Hwe thank you for life and we want to stay well,
. X; L q3 P H" M" h4 o/ @so we promise to rub our hands with Purell.
" O2 O) {* D# PWe who came first and are ready to dine. P( F' C- b& l/ q) j( k
thank you that we’re not still waiting in line, $ Y' j% K1 T9 r) ^$ B1 j5 y
but for those who are hungry and eagerly wait, 8 G( x1 _9 c3 ?, [) V3 w& |' ^
we shall not be greedy and heap up our plate.& I9 G) _ R, ]) ^' B% n, w4 A) A
Instead we’ll be thoughtful of all the others + ^2 M% j2 k: |/ o; G9 c
the way we were taught by our own loving mothers.

; t9 P. j/ _9 o. ~We smell the potatoes all spicy and roasted 9 o+ _5 ?% g1 {5 @2 i. s3 F5 m) |
the aroma of casseroles perfectly toasted 1 ? F2 x) G5 q) R) k o
